Music Camp 2016

Music Camp 2016

On the occasion of the Styrian Sounds Festival, Music Camp 2016 is dedicated to the international success of bands from Austria. Bilderbuch manager Christoph Kregl, Wanda label manager Ilias Dahiméne and Opus mastermind Ewald Pfleger will report on and discuss their experiences in the international music business.
The Music Camp is organised by Radio Soundportal in cooperation with mica – music austria and Creative Industries Styria.

There is a new appetite for home-grown pop – and not only in Austria. Bands like Wanda and Bilderbuch are now celebrating great success and playing sold-out venues at home and abroad. Even the ZDF news or the Deutsche Bahn magazine report on music made in Austria. What factors are responsible for this hype? What strategies underlie the international success of Austrian musicians? How can the local music scene in particular benefit from the international success of Bilderbuch or Wanda?

These and other questions will be addressed in a moderated panel by:

Christoph Kregl | Manager of Bilderbuch
Ilias Dahiméne | Wanda, Der Nino aus Wien, label boss of Worried Man & Worried Boy
Ewald Pfleger | Mastermind of Opus

Host: Rainer Praschak | mica – music austria.

Participation in the Music Camp is free of charge.

Registration by 24 November at martina.pock@cis.at is required.
